Who is responsible

What we collect, and why

If you send a pilot request

The form asks for your name, work email address, organisation and message. We store exactly those four fields, together with the time you sent them, and we use them for one purpose: to read your enquiry and reply to it.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry, and, where your message is about entering into an agreement, the steps taken at your request before a contract. You choose what to put in the message field; please do not include anything sensitive or confidential in a first approach.

If you simply read the site

Our web server keeps ordinary request logs — the requesting IP address, the time, the page requested, the response, and the browser's user-agent string. They exist to keep the service running and to investigate abuse or faults, which is our legitimate interest in operating a secure service. They are not used to profile readers, and they are not combined with anything else.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it makes no requests to any third-party host. That is a statement about the pages as they are actually served, not an intention: every public page was loaded and inspected before this paragraph was written, and the only things stored were the two below.

  • csrftoken — a cookie set only on the contact page. It is what stops a third-party site from submitting the form as you, and the form cannot work without it.
  • qri-theme — a browser local-storage entry that remembers whether you chose the light or the dark appearance. It is written only when you use the theme control, it holds nothing but the word light or dark, and it never leaves your browser.

Both are strictly necessary for functionality you asked for, so there is no consent banner. We would rather not show you one than show you a banner that asks permission for things we do not do.

Who else sees it

Nobody buys, receives or is given this data for their own purposes. Two service providers process it on our behalf, under their own data-processing terms:

  • Hostinger — runs the server this site and its database live on, located in Frankfurt, Germany, and delivers the notification email we send ourselves when an enquiry arrives.

The server and the database are inside the EU. We do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

How long we keep it

A pilot enquiry is kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful exchange with you, and then deleted — unless there is an active contract or a legal obligation that requires us to keep it longer, in which case it is kept only for as long as that requires. Server logs are kept only as long as they are useful for operating and securing the service.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds not to. Write to qrp@elkan-electronic.com and we will answer within one month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Commission for Personal Data Protection — 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., 1592 Sofia, Bulgaria, kzld@cpdp.bg, https://www.cpdp.bg/. You are welcome to raise it with us first, but you do not have to.

Automated decisions

None. The Q-Day Index is a model of published research evidence; it makes no decision about you, and it never sees anything you send us.
